LEXILE READING

Dear Parent/Caregiver,

I am including an excel spreadsheet for books found in the school library which line up with your child’s comprehension score. They have done an online comprehension  test  from Aston Scholastic and the result they have gained gives them a Lexile score on this. The Lexile Score is a guide for which books are suitable for your child’s ability from our school library. For example if your child’s lexile score is 504 then a suitable range of books would be 50 below and 50 above.  In other  words an approximate range from 454 up to  554. On completing a books they will be required to do an online quiz at school which will determine if they have read the book properly. There is usually a score out of 10. Not all children will be able to read Lexile readers from the library as they may still be working towards completing levels in the PM benchmarks.

Regards

Des Norman
